Well, it had to happen some time.

it just would have been nice if it didn't happen yesterday in front of a crowd of around 11,500.

From the way it looked/sounded on TV it seemed like 6500 of the 11500 were Devils fans.

I'm thinking you can't complain about a borderline call after Larsson got called for Tavares turning into him and falling.

Borderline and non calls happen all the time.

The fact of the matter is the devils scored on their third pp attempt and allowed no goals on all 7 of their pk's. can't blame the refs for that.

It was a good game until the last four minutes or so. Hedberg was a big difference maker. His performance was awesome. Nabby was good too. The call on Strait may have been weak, but the Isles had seven PP's before the call on Strait and cashed in on none of them. That was the deciding factor in the game. You can't go 0-7 on the PP and expect to win.

I know the first Bernier goal was a back-breaker, but I'm more disappointed about his second one. The team just completely let up after going down 1-0 You can't have lapses like that. The second goal came too easily and too quickly. This team has a habit of taking their foot off the pedal after a goal is scored. If they keep their intensity and discipline after the first goal, the second one never goes in and they have a real chance of tying the game.

Yep. It was like they reverted to their old ways and let that goal ruin their game. The Devils didn't let up and dictated the game. Boring Devils hockey but it's effective. Going 14 minutes without a shot on goal and most of the third period , going 0 for 7 on the PP, there were so many reasons they lost that game to blame the loss on that lame call is short sighted. They lost their focus after that goal.

Maybe not to you but I find it annoying to go see the team I'm a fan of and being out numbered by the opposing teams fans. Hearing them cheering and rubbing it in the faces of the few Isles fans there. Been there done that too many times. The fact that the Isles facilitate it by offering game plans to Montreal fans every time they play at the Coli makes it that much worse. I get that it's a buisness and they need to make money but it doesn't make it anymore fun when you're actually there dealing with the ribbing, especially when they're getting their nuts kicked in most of the time

Ive never really experienced any hassle at any games, even when its the Rags fans invading the building. Granted it could be that where I sit is all season tix holders so im not really having that same experience as you.
But even then, I go to a lot of games in other teams buildings where I am just one in a sea of apposing fans and that's never bothered me either.

It's not that it's a hassle. It's annoying, that's all. I would think most would agree. I usually sit in season ticket seats with friends or blocks that my broker friends buy so it's not location. You don't want to be out numbered by opposing teams fans in your own building. Isles players have chirped about it for years. Who would want some Montreal fan celebrating next to them after a goal? Who wants to see their team get shalacked in their own building and hear the other teams fans chant Ole' Ole' Ole'? I don't, guess we are different people?

I understand the players being bothered by it, They want to be rewarded with cheers when they do something good, they feed off it. But as a fan, i would prefer the building filled with fans of our team, but at the end of the day id rather @sses of any fan to empty seats

Try going to a Habs game wearing your Leafs Clark Jersey, then cheer like frankin crazy for the Leafs... I know what he is talking about..

I agree about the call. As for Oposo, I don't think he's bringing enough to the party to justify his line and minutes.

Let's face it...we're human. If you're an Isles fan, you're probably a bit ticked off to see a scoreless game end like that. You're 100% right about all the other stuff -- the Isles got a few weak calls in their favor during the game as well and didn't capitalize, it happens to everyone, they'll be on the other side of a late call like that one day soon, if they weren't in that spot in the first place by doing something different earlier... and all that jazz. It's all true. But, well, dammit, that was a crappy way for an Isles fan to see a 0-0 score broken with just 4 or so minutes left.

You are also talking about the biggest rivalry in the sport, I have been to games in Toronto & Montreal .. wearing my Isles Jersey & celebrating my team.. wasn't an issue. Even wearing an Isles Jersey in MSG.. its not like it was in the 70's when you just didn't do it or at the Spectrum (That place was hard core) .

I don't know what you guys think, but I thought they had some chances yesterday, Hedberg just played a good game. Sometimes you just have to take your hat off to the other guy. What this team (being young as it is) needs to learn is that this one is over.....next! That is what stops 11 losses in a row- they're not all going to play the way Hedberg did, and as long as the boys understand it, they'll be fine.

True. Even the ladies working the peelers would have nothing to do with us in our Leafs jerseys...

Hedberg really was the difference, the guy played awesome. But this team lives by the sword and dies by it... We have been winning on special teams, they have an off night & the team loses.

I was at a game at MSG in the late 70's Isles vs Rags & I saw a guy get his Potvin Jersey ripped off of him & burnt right there in the blue section... that place was a mad house.

I miss those times!

Call no question was lame. clean hits if guy acts hurt = penalties now. thats unless its tavares getting driving into boards by Phaneuf.

But that said. No question it was Hedberg. Only way to beat the devils is to score first.

we had 20 shots but like 4 of those were like incredible scoring chances that Hedberg just made unbelievable saves.

IM not going to be too upset as that happens. Now lets bounce back with another win vs PENS and Rags this week.

I assume she was referring to the Isles' awful in-studio host Peter Rudgazer (sp?). He interviewed Hamonic during the 2nd intermission and asked him what he thought about logging all those minutes. Hamonic shot back to him "does it look like I'm logging too many minutes?" Rudgzer and Goring are so atrocious I almost opted to switch to the Devils' feed and Chico's blabbering.
